Apple Pencil: A Brilliant Introduction

I remember when the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil were introduced. I watched this video and was immediately sold. I went out and bought both, and I wasn’t disappointed. I loved the way the film demonstrated how the Pencil interacted with the iPad, moving between drawings and illustrations and almost X-ray-like views inside the products to show how the technology actually worked.

The audio is probably my favorite part. Jony Ive’s narration and the soundtrack are dynamite together. The rhythm of the way he speaks and his choice of words are so captivating and soothing, and somehow make you trust everything he’s telling you. Strangely, it doesn’t really feel like an advertisement, which makes how persuasive it is even more remarkable.

Clearly, an incredible amount of thought went into every aspect of the products. And then they put just as much thought into how they introduced them. That kind of attention to detail is something I really admire. ◡̈
